Fe and Rudy Romanillos
This scholarship program is the legacy of the late and hugely missed Rudy and Fe Romanillos. There is over 40 years of history behind this legacy which started when Rudy and Fe began helping young people to continue their education despite financial constraints. Over the years they helped several youngsters, even during times when their own financial situation was difficult, as they were passionate and committed to this noble cause. The impact this support had on the lives of those youngsters was very significant. This served as an inspiration for the Romanillos family to establish a foundation as a fitting tribute to one loving couple.
What follows are the testimonies of some of those youngsters who Rudy and Fe helped over the years. The legacy of love that they left behind is more valuable than any inheritance. This scholarship program keeps alive their memory, allows their legacy to live on, impact on our lives and on those they had helped.

“What working students & our scholars say about us”
I am John Gil Lorenzo D. Ricablanca, a recent graduate of Bachelor in English Education at Philippine Normal University-Visayas. In the last two years of my college journey, becoming a scholar of the Rudy & Fe Scholarship, Inc. is pivotal to my academic success.
My college journey has not been easy. For most of my academic years, I was a self-supporting student. It is a good thing that I am thrifty. I was able to finance my allowance, school expenses, and boarding house bills. All of it came directly from my own pocket. It was very exhausting, not just physically, but also mentally and emotionally. Despite all of it, I was able to hold on because of the dreams I want to achieve.
When I became a scholar of the Rudy & Fe Romanillos Scholarship, Inc., a huge weight was lifted from my shoulders. The financial burden I have been suffering for two years was eased, allowing me to focus more on my studies without worrying anymore about the expenses I need to pay. It was not just financial help – it was hope, encouragement, and a great reminder that there are still people who believe in students like me.
As I am now preparing myself for the real world, I look back with deep gratitude.
This scholarship program played a major role in making this milestone possible.
Thank you so much to the Rudy & Fe Romanillos Scholarship, Inc.!
It is with deep gratitude, humility and overwhelming joy that I write this
testimony as I close a significant and transformative chapter of my life –
earning my degree in Bachelor in Mathematics Education.
Pursuing a college education was never an easy journey. I come from a
humble family, and while my parents both supported me in different ways
growing up, everything changed during my first year in college – my mother
passed away. That loss shook our family to its core. It was a heartbreaking
moment that forced us to adjust not only emotionally, but also practically.
From then on, my father became our sole provider, carrying the full weight of
our family’s needs while I continued my studies.
Grieving while trying to stay focused on my academics was incredibly difficult.
There were days when the emotional burden felt too heavy to bear, when I
questioned whether I could keep going. But during that dark season of my
life, one source of light and hope came in the form of the RUDY and FE
ROMANILLOS SCHOLARSHIP, Inc. Their support allowed me to move
forward, not only by easing our financial struggles, but also by showing me
that there were people out there who believed in my potential even when I
was at my lowest.
This scholarship did more than pay for my education—it reminded me that I
was not alone. It encouraged me to persevere, to strive harder, and to honor both my late mother’s memory and my father’s sacrifices. The belief you
placed in me served as motivation to push through all the hardships and
focus on the bigger picture.
Through the years, I’ve grown not just in knowledge, but in strength,
character, and purpose. The scholarship allowed me to pursue my goals with
confidence and to stay committed even when the road was difficult. And now,
standing at the end of this journey, I hold more than just a diploma—I hold the
story of resilience, of community, and of grace extended through your
support.
To the RUDY and FE ROMANILLOS SCHOLARSHIP, Inc., thank you for
being a part of my story. Thank you for lifting a burden off my father’s
shoulders, for walking with me in one of the most difficult times of my life, and
for giving me a reason to keep going. Your kindness has changed my life
forever.
As I enter the next chapter, I carry the values of gratitude, service, and
excellence. I promise to use what I’ve learned not just in my future classroom,
but in life. I hope to inspire others the way you have inspired me.
Thank you for being part of my journey. I will always be grateful.

I am honored to be part of the Rudy and Fe Romanillos Scholarship Program. Even though it was just a short period, it was the most pivotal time in my final year at the University. I was very grateful for the opportunity.
I want to thank the Rudy and Fe Romanillos
Scholarship and to all the family behind this Program for your generous gift that made my education attainable. Through your support, I have accomplished so much that I never thought possible. I am proud to say that I had worked hard to be where I am now, but I certainly could not have done it without your help. I am forever grateful for your generosity.
Once again, thank you very much for your support and thank you for investing in my future!
Hello, I am Jenelyn Lomra. Malaking pasasalamat ko po kay Ma’am Fe and Nong Rudy Romanillos. Nag umpisa po ako as a working student when I was in my elementary in 6th grade.
I love and I miss them both. Salamat uli kay Ma’am Fe and Nong Rudy.
I am Narciso C. Medura Jr. from Bonbon Oslob, Cebu. I was one of the working students of Rudy and Fe Romanillos.
My family was very poor and can’t afford to support my studies. That was why I decided to go to Toboso in Negros Occidental and join my brother, Namerto Mendura as a working student of Tiyo Rudy and Tiya Fe Romanillos. I received my elementary diploma from the Toboso Central School and my high school from the Toboso National High School.
After my elder brother Namerto, completed his high school, Tiyo Rudy decided to help another brother, Eshagani, so I would not feel so homesick in Toboso. My younger brother, Eshagani also became a working student of Tiyo Rudy and Tiya Fe in Toboso.
I remember when my brother Namerto, graduated from high school, Tiyo Rudy accompanied him to our home in Bonbon, Oslob to be able to visit our family. After a short stay in our hometown, Tiyo Rudy accompanied him to find a job in Cebu City.
Sometimes I miss my second parents, Rudy and Fe Romanillos because I grew up with them.
Buotan kaayo sila ug giisip mi nila nga parang tinood nga anak. Matinabangon sila sa mga nanginahanglan sa ilang tabang’’.
Hi! A Pleasant Day!
I’m Randy Ventic from Nueva Caceres, Oslob Cebu. I was one of the high school working students of Rudy & Fe Romanillos and Family, years 1991 to 1997.
My parents can’t afford to support my high school education that’s why I decided to go to Toboso, Negros Occidental to continue my studies with the help of Tiyo Rudy and Tiya Fe and the whole family.
I received my High School Diploma with the help and presence of the Romanillos family. I’m very thankful to them for the guidance and support during my High School days.
In this family I learned a lot of great attitudes; strong religious beliefs, being grateful, being humble wherever I go and whatever I do.
Sometimes I missed all the happy memories we had with Tiyo Rudy and Tiya Fe.
Forever I will be grateful and thankful to Romanillos Family.
I grew up in Toboso, Negros Occidental and studied at Toboso Municipal High School (now known as Toboso National High School) from 1979 and graduated in 1983. I am thankful to my aunt Fely and uncle Rudy Romanillos for helping me finish my high school studies. Because of them, I learned discipline and perseverance, even if I was not able to go to college, I persevered and worked hard that all my kids will be able to finish their college education. Now, I am happy that 3 of them have their careers and are all working professionally. I very much appreciated aunt Fe and uncle Rudy for all the life lessons that they have taught me.
I am looking forward to remembering their goodness and value of education through the success of The Rudy & Fe Romanillos Scholarship.
I am Ninfa Vergara Cerna Deni-ay. My family and close friends call me by my nickname “Bebing”.
I lived with Tiya Fe and Tiyo Rudy together with their children Riza, Francis, Tata, Nenen and Wewen from 1980 until 1984. I am related to them because Tiya Fe is my aunt.
Tiyo Rudy and Tiya Fe were the ones who supported me in order for me to finish high school. They were there for me to provide for my everyday needs especially for school until such time that I finished my high school from Toboso Municipal High School (now known as Toboso National High School) in year 1984.
Tiyo Rudy and Tiya Fe didn’t just stop there in helping and providing for my needs when I finished my secondary education. They offered that they will continue to support and provide for my needs if I’ll pursue college. I took up Bachelor of Elementary Education (BEEd) in Mount Carmel College, Escalante City.
Despite all the challenges that Tiyo and Tiya encountered, especially during that time that life was hard and they have also somehow limited income, they still chose to support and help me so that I’ll be able to finish my schooling. I also have my share of difficulties, trials and challenges during that time especially that we always have to wake up early to help with the family’s small business and with that, in my own little way, I may be able to help generate income. Sleepless nights and doing multitasking to finish all work that needs to be done paid off when I graduated from college in year 1988.
I will be forever grateful to Tiya Fe and Tiyo Rudy for giving me the opportunity and chance that I’m able to finish my studies through their help. They are a big part of the degree that I have obtained and the person I am today. I will always treasure the help and support that they have given me.
I hope and pray that this organization will lead to more children like me before who are underprivileged, be given also a chance to pursue their dreams by finishing their studies. May this be a way that more hearts be touched and more lives to be transformed.
God bless & more power!
