Hi, my name is Joshua Areja Ham and I am currently pursuing a Bachelor of Mathematics Education at Philippine Normal University-Visayas. Being a student is not an easy task, especially at PNU-V. The university always lives up to its name and students are constantly pushed to their full potential. As a student, I often face countless struggles and get little sleep due to our hectic schedule and the constant bombardment of activities, assignments, quizzes, and exams every term. But this is what I asked for. This is what I dreamed of. This is where I wanted to be. I need to face all of these in order to become the best version of myself.
Being a student comes with financial struggles, that’s why I’m so truly thankful to be a scholar of the Rudy and Fe Romanillos Scholarship, Inc. The monthly allowance they provide me is a significant help to both me and my family, as it relieves me of worrying about my school expenses. I can now cover my rent and bills at the boarding house without concern for whether there’s enough money left for my other expenses. Furthermore, my father is the sole financial supporter, so this scholarship also aids him by reducing his financial burden related to me, allowing him to focus on my other two siblings. No words can express how grateful and thankful I am to be a part of this.
